Applied Statistics at the University of Toronto Scarborough

Our minor in applied statistics is all about experiential learning — you’ll develop strong quantitative skills and use them to find solutions to real-world problems. Get hands-on experience in courses dedicated to using statistics in fields including life and social sciences, politics, health, geography, psychology, economics and more.

Our minor is research-intensive, and emphasizes research in areas including probability, game theory, statistical modelling and analysis. You’ll learn to design effective experiments to make predictions and minimize uncertainty in decision-making in this experiential program. Our program is designed for students taking a non-mathematical major who want to learn to apply a comprehensive, practical knowledge of statistics in their chosen field.
