Club Med(itation)

Is your mind feeling overloaded? Are your muscles tense? Come join us for a mid-day escape. Experience and learn the art of relaxation through mindfulness meditation, stress management, and gentle stretching of the body and soul.

Personal Growth Interpersonal Therapy Group 

This group program is particularly suited for students who want to enhance their self-esteem and self-awareness as well as further their relationship skills. The group usually consists of 8-12 members and meets for 90 minutes every week. This personal growth program is a process group that is developed by the members. Confidentiality is essential as it provides a level of safety for members, which in turn facilitates more open sharing among students.

Mondays, 3-4:30pm, January 10 – April 11

Mastering Your Mood Therapy Group

This group will provide you with an opportunity to share personal experiences and learn new coping strategies. Topics will include relaxation and stress management techniques, an introduction to mindfulness meditation, an exploration of how thoughts and feelings are connected, how to alter negative thinking, ways to improve relationships and self care strategies. This group is also appropriate for persons dealing with depression and anxiety.

Overcoming Procrastination

You just made a plan and “oops” it has already fallen apart. Come join this group to learn to wield your will to keep your procrastination at bay and meet the goals you have set.  Learn why we procrastinate - is there a divine design or devices of your own mind?

Healthy Relationships

Being in relationships can be wonderful experiences. However, relationships can also be complicated. Effective communication and conflict resolution skills are needed to navigate and maintain all relationships. Join other students in discussing what a healthy relationship looks like.

Sleep                                                                                      

Frustrated by restless nights? Dozing off in class? Sleep deprivation can take a toll on your grades, relationships, and overall mental health. Learn how to eliminate barriers to sleep with a few simple, effective techniques. This workshop will teach you how to create a better sleep environment, and improve your health with natural, restful sleep.

Stress Management      

Are you feeling stressed out and overwhelmed? This workshop will help you to identify your primary sources of stress and overall level of anxiety. It will also help you to understand behaviours, attitudes and feelings that perpetuate anxiety and ways to reduce and manage anxiety more effectively.

You will have an opportunity to practice deep breathing, progressive relaxation, and guided imagery.

Mindfulness 

This group will allow you to develop a sense of “mindfulness,” which is a non-judgemental, moment-to-moment awareness of being in the here and now. In this group you will learn the basic concepts of Mindfulness, as well as experience a number of interactive Mindfulness activities, including a basic meditation and body scan.

Please bring a yoga mat or towel to lie on!
