The University of Toronto is known as one of the world’s top research universities and just recently was ranked Canada’s Most Innovative University by media giant Reuters’ Top 100. On the University’s easternmost campus, U of T Scarborough research faculty contribute to U of T innovations and discoveries that are advancing new knowledge and improving lives around the world.

Bringing the community together to advance the intellectual life of the campus is the goal of U of T Scarborough’s new Celebration of Research Excellence Lecture Series, which showcases the campus’ rigorous research environment and creative activity. The 2017/18 series reflects the diversity of faculty accomplishments in the humanities, social sciences and physical sciences.

“This series crosses academic boundaries to build a sense of common identity, allowing recent award winners to share their notable discoveries and foster a collective passion for education and research,” says Acting Vice-Principal Research Professor Marc Cadotte.  “This is a forum that will stimulate the imaginations of those who share the need to know more.”

The series launches on October 19th and will cover topics ranging from healthy environments to the attributes that help us live a fulfilled life to what justice in Late Imperial China can teach us about today’s legal and social practices.

The series of seven lectures featuring leading U of T Scarborough scholars runs through March 2018 and is open to the U of T Scarborough community and members of the public.  Details on each lecture is available here.
