Academic programming is a key driving force in the overall development of the U of T Scarborough campus. Integral to the success of this driving force, are the Appointed Academic Administrators. Through the office, leadership in academic programming and services are provided, as well as oversight of faculty appointments and career progression, development and administration of academic policies, and management of the academic budget, ensuring that the campus provides a positive, inclusive, and academically excellent, environment that is responsive to change.
19 Academic Department Chairs report to the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean, meeting regularly throughout the academic year to discuss items to further enhance and strengthen efforts to meet the University's Strategic Plan - Inspiring Inclusive Excellence. As outlined in DCD #13, 2021-22 the Joint Chairs & Academic Directors (CAD) is co-chaired by the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean and the Vice-Principal Research & Innovation.
