Within the Get Started program you will have access to many supports, such as:

Prior to attending the Get Started program, you are required to watch the Course Selection Module as this will help you understand how to choose courses.Complete the Course Planner and bring a hardcopy (or save an electronic copy) to have it double checked by an Academic Advisor at Get Started. If you are applying for transfer credits, review the Transfer Credits module. The modules and Course Planner will be available in the middle of May.

Reach out to your First-Year Peer

In June, you will be assigned a Upper year student who is happy to hear from you. They will email you to introduce themselves and you can connect with them throughout your first year. You an find your First Year Peer on FirstYear@UTSC online hub (available early June). Wondering what to ask your First-Year Peer?

  • If you need further clarification after viewing the Course Selection Module or attending a Get Stared On Campus or Online session
  • If you have a question about what it is like transitioning to university
  • Have general questions about your first year at UTSC

Course Selection Supports Drop-In

If you missed out on the Get Started programming events held in June or have follow-up questions after having attended a previous session, attend a Course Selection Supports Drop-In (virtual/in-person). Use these drop-ins to connect with an Academic Advisor and First Year Peer to have your questions answered. 

Prior to attending, you are required to:
  • Watch the Course Selection Module as this will help you understand how to choose courses. 
  • Complete the Course Planner and bring a hardcopy (or save an electronic copy) to have it double-checked by an Academic & Learning Strategist/First Year Peer. 
  • If you are applying for transfer credits, review the Transfer Credits module.
Drop anytime between the following times listed and you may leave the session once your question(s) have been answered. Registration not required.
