Meet your English language requirement at the #1 university in Canada!

Academic English is a summer language program designed for students with a conditional offer of admission to U of T Scarborough who are academically qualified but need to satisfy the English proficiency requirement.

Academic English is an 8-week English Level 60 language course held at U of T Scarborough and taught by the U of T School of Continuing Studies. The program supports students in developing necessary skills for academic reading, writing, listening and speaking, while providing an introduction to academic culture, communication, research and study skills.

Students who successfully complete the summer Academic English program with a grade of ‘B’ or higher will satisfy the English language proficiency condition in the offer of admission and proceed to their degree studies in September.

If you are interested in Academic English, apply to your preferred program at U of T Scarborough. If you are eligible, you will receive a conditional offer of admission to U of T Scarborough and an invitation to register for Academic English.

Join the U of T Scarborough community early by living in residence in the summer! If you wish to stay in residence while studying Academic English, we will send you information on how to do so once you receive the conditional offer of admission.
