Dr. Megan Elias
October 2, 2019 - 12:00 to 13:00
Culinaria Kitchen, SW 312, U of T Scarborough
At this lunch-time event, Dr. Megan Elias, Director of the Gastronomy Program at Boston University and author of Lunch: the History of a Meal, makes an argument that sandwiches are a category of food uniquely suited to teaching about the human past. Exploring the history of sandwiches themselves and also demonstrating how a particular sandwich can introduce us to the themes of North American history, Dr. Elias will lead a sandwich-making exercise and discussion in the Culinaria Kitchen.
To Students in the Collaborative Specialization program: This seminar is part of the Culinaria Seminar Series SRM 3333H.
