Deirdre Flynn teaches diverse courses on academic and scientific writing, twentieth-century literature, critical theory, and film. In addition to publishing articles on Beckett, Joyce, Proust, and Woolf, she has co-authored four textbooks: The McGraw-Hill Handbook (2010); Where All the Ladders Start: Twentieth Century Western Culture in Literature and Film (2013); Nerves in Patterns on Screens: An Introduction to Film Studies (2014); and Necessary Fictions: Narratives of Coherence after World War II (2015). She is currently completing an interactive, interdisciplinary textbook entitled, JustWrite: A Massively Multiplayer Real-Life Game Where You Write to Win (forthcoming).
