After Test Review

Review Your Notes

Your test is not really over until you review your notes after you’ve left the examination room. Even though you may not believe this step is necessary, it will help because you still remember the test questions and contents. It’s a perfect time to reflect on what you’ve done. This step can be especially helpful if you have upcoming tests in the same course.

Note Gaps in Knowledge

Try to approach the exam as a learning opportunity and look at gaps in your knowledge with curiosity rather than with judgment. This is best after you’ve had a break from the exam (i.e. at least a few days). You can find the correct responses and re-read or re-listen to the answers to these questions. You will find out what the answer is which may be useful for the future. Also, you may be able to analyze why you didn’t remember an answer or why you didn’t study a topic if that is the case.
