Join us for Hack Attack, a virtual hackathon organized specifically for all high school students in Ontario in Grades 11 and 12. Hack Attack will feature networking opportunities, fun activities, prizes, and lucky draws.

This event is organized by the University of Toronto Scarborough Accounting Combined Program (BBA & MAccFin) and the Master of Accounting and Finance (MAccFin). Hack Attack is sponsored by CPA Ontario, Nestlé Canada, and MNP.

How to Register

Students must form a team of 4-5 students to participate. All participants should be currently enrolled in Grade 11 or 12. Each teammate must complete the registration form to officially register. Registration will close on Friday, October 21, 2022. The registration form requires you to enter a team name that your team decides upon. Please also supply the names and email addresses of your teammates.

How to Prepare for Hack Attack

Pre Event

  • There will be an info session for all participating teams to learn more about hackathons and how to better prepare to succeed.
  • Each team will be provided with an information package regarding the industry and company they will hack. Each team is encouraged to do their research regarding the company and industry prior to the event.

During the Event

  • More info will be provided at the event regarding the issue, and each team will be given time to prepare for their hack.
  • Each team will be asked to prepare a 20-minute presentation to pitch in front of a panel of judges.
     

The Master of Accounting and Finance Program (MAccFin) is North America’s only graduate degree that integrates both accounting and finance business disciplines. Offered at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus (UTSC), MAccFin delivers a world-class, practical educational experience that prepares students for three designations: the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designations and provides additional real-world co-op experience.

The Accounting Combined Degree Program (CDP): UTSC, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Specialist in Management and Accounting / Master of Accounting and Finance (MAccFin) allows exceptional students who are registered in the Management and Accounting (Specialist) program to apply during Year 2 of their undergraduate studies and be considered for admission to the MAccFin program. The CDP is designed for students with no prior work experience who are interested in pursuing careers in account management, wealth management, consultancy, and entrepreneurship.
