Upcoming Activities
Actvities continue with UNESCO’s IHP-Theme 4 “Water and Human Settlements of the Future” (2014-2021). Recently this involved attendance at the Singapore International Water Week where UNESCO organised a two-hour seminar session on "Megacities and Climate Change".
Work also continues with colleagues in China re: a theme journal issue dealing with the the potential impacts associated with the development of Asia’s “New Silk Road” a venture that promises to bring massive urban growth and immense economic benefits to impoverished parts of western China and Central Asia. The theme issue is expected to be published by Environmental Earth Sciences in late 2016 / early 2017.
The activity most imminent is a session on urban groundwater at the next IAH Congress in Montpellier:
