Teaching by N. Lovejoy
At University of Toronto Scarborough, I currently teach the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Laboratory (BGYB52). This course introduces selected concepts in ecology and evolution, using practical lab and field experiences as learning tools. Lectures and required readings are used to provide background material for laboratory and field exercises. Scientific writing skills are emphasized, and grades are based on short quizzes, participation and long and short lab reports. Course topics include: biodiversity, phylogenetics, genetic drift, phenotypic plasticity, eutrophication, computer simulations, conservation, and behavioural ecology. See the UTSC calendar for more details.
