Sanchia deSouza is a PhD Candidate in the Department of History. Her
dissertation examines the changing meanings of milk in urban space,
specifically focusing on Bombay between 1890 and 1970. Her general research
interests include histories of labour, colonialism, and mobility, apart
from food. Before coming to Canada, she worked on archiving and oral
history projects in India. She writes on history and culture for a general
audience in the Mumbai Mirror and Scroll.in.
