In select courses, students must pass the practical component in addition to achieving the minimum C- (60%) in the class. Students must also maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 or higher to remain in the program.

Non-Academic Requirements:

  • Prior to taking courses at Centennial College, students must fill out a medical certificate and have current qualifications in CPR and standard first aid. Students must also pass Centennial's screening process (which includes attendance at an information session, medical certificate, Clear Criminal Record, minimum weight lifting requirement of 210lbs., completion of a CPR course in the past two years, completion of standard first aid courses). Students are strongly encouraged to be in the process of obtaining their class F Driver's License. This is a mandatory requirement for employment. See Centennial's website for complete details. Applicants may arrange to complete these requirements during the first year of their studies at the University of Toronto at Scarborough.
  • The appropriate forms will be distributed to students to verify the aforementioned information in the summer semester following their first year. Additional information will be received in their freshman package from Centennial College prior to starting the College portion of the program. For more information, please contact the Program Coordinator at Centennial College, Mike Thomas, or the Administrative Coordinator for the Joint Programs, Sayilaja Kalaimohan.
  • Please note, students enrolled in the Paramedicine program must be fitted for an N95 mask or equivalent at their own cost. Safety helmets are required for participation in all field placements. Students must maintain their hair in a manner that does not interfere with the proper fit of safety helmets.  Without face mask fit certification, students cannot complete the requirements of the program.
