The IC Rooftop Garden is a 28 square-metre, multi-use space for meditation, relaxation, meetings, and social gatherings. It also provides the opportunity for faculty and students to learn from one another while growing their own food. The Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences launched the garden in 2016 in coordination with the Sustainability Office and with input from the Culinaria Research Centre. Since its inception, this garden has grown a large variety of crops, including Indigenous ceremonial and healing plants, edible perennial and annual plants, and the Three Sisters Crops of beans, squash, and maize.
