Become a Mentor: I am guide, leader and friend to first year students!
The First Year Experience Program is a peer support program that matches first year student (mentees) with a senior student (mentor).
The program will focus on the adjustments that students face through a series of education, academic support and events.
Benefits of Mentoring Include:
· Participation in leadership on campus
· Access to professional development opportunities
· Receive credits towards the Leadership Development Certificate
· Be recognized for being part of a network for student support
Duties of a Mentor:
· Meet and communicate with mentees on a weekly basis
· Attend Student Leader Training
· Mentors must maintain a GPA min. of 2.0
· Commit from August to June 30th (2011-12 school year)
