Campus promotes alumni connections and upcoming events

A full roster of events and activities is planned for this fall, and members of the alumni are encouraged to attend and participate.
Whether you were here in 1968 or 2008, you are invited to stay connected. Many exciting initiatives are taking place at U of T Scarborough, and everyone is urged to come back and experience the campus once again.
“We welcome all of the alumni from U of T Scarborough to take part in upcoming events and get involved,” said Vinitha Gengatharan, president of the U of T Scarborough Alumni Association.
“You're all part of this campus community and we want to keep you connected to and engaged with the campus,” she said. “We’re inviting you to come to our events, but we also encourage you get involved in other ways, whether it’s by volunteering your time, mentoring students, or giving of some of your other unique skills. Be sure to stay in touch, and we look forward to hearing from you.”

  • Thursday, October 16 - Science Research Building Opening - The University of Toronto Scarborough has created a leading-edge science facility that provides vibrant, collaborative space for interdisciplinary teaching and research in physical, environmental and life sciences; the new building houses laboratories, offices, workspaces, meeting rooms, a lounge and a lecture theatre.   • Friday, October 17 - East-West Hockey Classic - Join us for the 5th East–West Hockey Classic — a challenge match between the hockey teams at U of T Scarborough and U of T Mississauga. This is an opportunity for students and alumni to enjoy and rally behind Scarborough Campus Athletics!   • Saturday, October 18 - Golf Tournament and Fundraiser for UTSC Hockey -The UTSC Hockey program will be holding its 10th annual fund raiser golf tournament on Saturday Oct 18. This fundraiser is very important to our program and its success. By getting involved, you help us raise funds that go towards the programs expenses. Funds raised always are appreciated by our students and are used to enhance and support the program. We are coming off another terrific year, having celebrated a Tri Campus and "C" team championship and finalists’ positions for both "B" and "R" teams. Tournament entry fees include 18 holes, a golf cart, lunch, dinner, a trip to the prize table, and entry in mystery foursome. A silent auction and several lucky draws will also be happening. If you cannot play, perhaps you can donate something to the Silent Auction. Date: Saturday, October 18, 10 a.m. shotgun start.   • To October 19 - Art Exhibition: Glynis Humphrey -- "Breathing Under Water" continues to Oct. 19 in the Doris McCarthy Gallery in the Academic Resource Centre at U of T Scarborough is pleased to present Breathing Under Water, a multi-media installation by Haligonian artist Glynis Humphrey, recipient of the 2007 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia Masterworks Arts Award.   • November 7 – 15 - The Odd Couple by Neil Simon, a play by Althea Productions. This story of two divorced men, one a consummate slob and the other a neurotic neat freak, trying to share an apartment together in New York City in the mid-1960s, has entertained audiences for decades. The Odd Couple will be performed at the newly renovated Leigha Lee Browne Theatre on the U of T Scarborough campus. Date: Friday, November 7, 8, 13, 13 and 15 at 8 p.m. November 9 at 2 p.m. Location: Leigha Lee Browne Theatre.
