"The Day After Tomorrow: Temporality and Pluralism in Everyday Life" presented by special guest speaker Veena Das of Johns Hopkins

Professor Veena Das of Johns Hopkins University to address the University of Toronto Scarborough  on October 17, 2006 in a lecture open to the public.

"I will speak about what it is to coinhabit the world in a Hindu-Muslim context trying to show how the ethics of paying attention to the concrete other mediates but does not extinguish mutual hostilities and how ideas of form, deferral, sequence allow people to both obey the religious injunctions of their ideas around what it is to be a good Muslim or a good Hindu and yet engage in mutual translation", Veena Das says.
