Green Initiatives Launch and Planting Days

A major environmental and education initiative is being launched on Thursday, September 28 to enhance the natural environment of the campus and provide hands-on green learning.  The Green Initiative Launch celebrates a partnership between the campus and Evergreen, a charity that builds the relationship between nature, culture, and community in urban spaces - in schools, communities and homes.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate:
September 28 - 11am: Green Initiative Launch and Information Fair
The launch will begin at 11am in the H-Wing Patio.  Several tours will be led by faculty members showcasing the natural beauty and ecological diversity of the area.  The tour will finish at the Miller Lash House where information booths, a community bbq and remarks will be made.  Guests will be encouraged to sign up for one of two scheduled planting days and will recieve an information package about the planting day.
October 5  - 1pm: Planting Day
October 25 - 1pm: Planting Day
The planting days are scheduled to take place in the field next to the Miller Lash House.  The planting site will be at  the bend in the Highland Creek near that area.  Volunteers will meet at the designated site to recieve instructions and equipment for the planting event.
