Halloween features Trick or Trees planting event

Don’t miss the final outdoor planting event for the season, taking place on Friday, October 31.
The second annual Trick or Trees planting event will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Volunteers are invited to come and help plant trees and shrubs, and to wear Halloween costumes if they wish. Everyone is asked to meet in the lower campus parking lot. Gloves and equipment will be provided, but participants are asked to bring their own reusable water bottle.
This event is the last in a series of events organized this fall in partnership between the U of T Scarborough and Evergreen, a charity that builds the relationship between nature, culture and community in urban spaces – schools, communities and homes. More activities will be announced next spring.
“The Trick or Trees event that we organized last year drew a good crowd of volunteers and some clever costumes,” said Tim Lang, sustainability coordinator at U of T Scarborough. “People are welcome to come out for a break or lunch hour and give whatever time they can to help with the planting. We appreciate the help of all volunteers and we’ll make sure they have a hoot and a howl on Halloween.”
Everyone can sign up on the Intranet. For more information on sustainability at U of T Scarborough, contact Tim Lang, sustainability coordinator at tlang@utsc.utoronto.ca or (416) 208-2669.
