UTSC information - Impact of CAW labour dispute on campus operations

Regular updates for the University of Toronto community will be provided at: http://www.hrandequity.utoronto.ca/news/hrnews/010509a.htm
In the event of a strike, the University plans to continue operating fully. However, legal picketing may take place on public property around UTSC and at the University’s other main campus locations. Public transit will not enter UTSC campus grounds if a picket line is established at the main campus entrance. Their alternative stops are as follows:
- GO Transit will use the two TTC stops on opposite sides of Military Trail (for east and west bound travelers). They will post temporary signs at the site.
- The TTC will use their stop in front of the Athletic Centre on Military Trail to pick up and drop off all fares that normally occur on campus.
In the event of a work disruption, Facilities Management staff will do its best to maintain basic services (power, ventilation, air conditioning, hot water, etc.) to all campus buildings. However, due to reduced staffing, only emergency trouble calls will be addressed, and response to such calls will be slower than normal. Emergencies should be directed to the Facilities Management Department at 416-287-7579 during the day, M-F, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and to 416-287-7398 after regular hours and on weekends or statutory holidays.
