Kelly Crawford, OCT, BA(Hons), B.Ed., M.A., a proud member of M’Chigeeng First Nation and a life-long learner currently pursuing her PhD. Ms. Crawford is currently the Assistant Director of Indigenous Initiatives with the University of Toronto Scarborough. Ms. Crawford is the former Principal of Academics at Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute and Director of Education for the Kinoomaadziwin Education Body. She is an expert in treaty education and played an instrumental leadership role in the development and implementation of the Anishinabek Education System on behalf of the Anishinabek Nation for control over First Nations education within the Anishinabek Nation. She has authored several books and curricular resources on treaties in Ontario. Crawford has taught and held administrative roles from primary to university, delivered guest lectures, delivered treaty education sessions across the province for education institutes and government organizations and is a well-respected mentor, teacher and leader who was recognized with the Premier’s Award for Community Service in 2016.
