ACM Engage! Student Certificate Program. Get involved with ACM! Ambassador Roles

Become an Ambassador of ACM!

To receive your Ambassador Certificate, you must contribute and participate in 20 hours of services in at least one of these roles. Also, you must attend at least 2 training sessions. To apply for the Ambassador Certificate click here

Why volunteer?

·         ACM Engage! acknowledges and rewards various types of contribution and participation by students in ACM-related activities

·         Documents otherwise unseen work by students for resumes and portfolios

·         Provides more structured system for training, succession planning, reflection on learning/skills developed

·         Enrich student experience & sense of belonging within the ACM community

 

Available positions:

Event Crew

Under the direction of the ACM Connects Coordinator and the Events Team Lead, the Event Crew helps manage all matters that pertain to audience needs and comfort and the smooth operation of the activities in the venue before, during and after the show and at the intermission. 

Front of House Crew

Under the direction if the ACM Connects Coordinator and the Events Team Lead, the Front of House Crew meet and seats the audience, assist with box office, food concessions, and arrange programs for delivery.

Poster Crew

Under the direction of the Events Team Lead, the Poster Crew is in charge of all informational and directional signage. Some responsibilities include: setting and putting up posters, supervise displays and distribution of posters.

Media Crew

Under the direction of the ACM Connects Communications Coordinator and the Marketing Team Lead, the Media Crew is responsible for spreading awareness of AEP events though initiatives such as attractive promotional material, outreach at on-campus events, and social media.

Tech Crew

Under the direction of the Stage/Production Manager, the Tech Crew should be familiar with sound and light techniques for rehearsals and performances. They are responsible for: assisting artists with unloading, loading, setting up instruments and equipment and assisting and advising artists on sound and light equipment.

Production Crew

Under the direction of the ARTSIDEOUT Festival staff, the Production Crew is in charge of setting up, installing and taking down equipment and instruments.

Tour Guides

Under the direction of the ARTSIDEOUT Festival staff and volunteers, the Tour Guides are responsible for meeting and greeting visitors and students and guiding them to specific site art installations around campus.

Installation Crew

Under the direction of the Doris McCarthy Gallery and Gallery 1265 staff the Installation Crew should be interested and comfortable with handling and installing artworks. Some of the responsibilities include: packing and unpacking artworks, clean and prepare gallery spaces, assist in installation of select wall mountable artworks and perform light carpentry.

Gallery Docents

Under the direction of the Doris McCarthy Gallery and Gallery 1265 staff the Gallery Docents should be interested and comfortable with talking about art with audience members and have some background knowledge in the visual arts.
