Star People – an original performance devised by THR55/56 students

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough is thrilled to announce its upcoming annual mainstage production, Star People an original devised performance that promises to captivate the audience. Star People is set to take stage at Leigha Lee Browne Theatre from March 14-16 and 21-23, 2024.

Set in a mythical realm just beyond the clouds, the play follows the journey of the Star People as they voyage across the universe to find the Moon. With Time against them, will they succeed in finding their beloved Moon? And what lessons will they learn along the way? With a breathtaking set design and mesmerizing choreography, Star People ensures an immersive experience for all its audience members.

Using creation stories that are found throughout human culture, the students of THRD55/56 has crafted a story that felt aligned with their collective values, thus inviting the audience to be dreamers and immerse themselves in a whimsical experience while respecting the land we create on and the cultural backgrounds of the collective.
