About Us

Where it began?

The Healthy Campus Initiative was established in 2017 to ensure that all members of the UTSC community foster a healthy lifestyle. With our six pillars, the Healthy Campus Initiative strives to embed health in all aspects of campus culture, operations, and academic mandates and was founded to address the calls of action from the Okanagan Charter. The Healthy Campus Initiative also seeks to address specific recommendations outlined in the Presidential and Provostial Task Force on Student Mental Health, published in 2019 by the University of Toronto. We are committed to ensuring that everything we do aligns with UTSC's Strategic Priorities and that we continue to create meaningful change on our campus.

Where we're going?

Our current goals are to extend our outreach and develop more meaningful partnerships with groups and departments at UTSC. We are eager to support campus events and hope to promote awareness of our fund to other potential collaborators. We are currently working to ensure that we adhere to the relevant recommendations outlined in the Presidential and Provostial Task Force on Student mental Health.

  • We will continue to facilitate positive and meaningful interactions between members of our campus to ensure we foster a culture of caring.
  • We will become an official Healthy Campus through the alignment with the Okanagan Charter.
  • We will increase mental health literacy on campus with HLTA91, which will focus on equipping students with the knowledge and resources needed to lead healthy lifestyles.
  • We will continue to engage in regular conversations with our Healthy Campus Advisory Committee so that we can generate new insights and set new goals.
