Professor Nick Eyles often takes UTSC students on their own geologic journeys. He recently returned from accompanying students on a field trip to Iceland, and he’s also taken groups to Costa Rica, the Canadian Rockies and through the Appalachians. But with Geologic Journey I and II, Eyles, Allder and the CBC have created an educational legacy that will live on in classrooms across the country. GJ has become a major part of high school curriculums, and GJ II is about to follow suit. CBC Learning has produced a Teacher Resource Guide that helps educators get the most out of the series and the spectacular series website. Eyles even uses the series in his own first-year geology course, turning a traditionally dry subject into a learning adventure like no other.
