Introduction
The annual UTSC Trading Competition is a flagship event hosted jointly by The BRIDGE and the Investment Society. In our state-of-the art business lab, UTSC student traders compete in teams to experience life on the trading floor. Using Rotman Interactive Trader software, students learn how to trade financial securities with each other on a real-time basis, and how to quickly apply their knowledge of finance principles in a fast-paced, simulated trade floor experience.
Usually followed by a networking session & awards reception, where students connect with finance professionals and alumni.
Top-ranking students will be invited to join the UTSC Trading Team and will spend the Fall term honing their trading skills. This team will represent UTSC at the Rotman Online Trading Competition (usually in Nov). The Rotman Online Trading Competition is a campus-wide competition that selects a group of elite traders to represent the University at the annual Rotman International Trading Competition (usually in February).
To Participate
This competition is open to current UTSC students only and each team must have 3 members. This is a professional business competition, so participants are expected to dress in business formal attire. After a long day of trading, be ready to mix and mingle with our industry guests, many of whom are currently working as Bay Street traders. This is an excellent chance to learn more about the industry, and even make a connection that could change your life!
All teams are STRONGLY recommended to attend at least one workshop in the Business Lab. Traders should also practice their cases at home or in the Finance Lab on the practice server.
