Accessible and Ergonomic Furniture
If students require accessible furniture in a classroom/lab, please contact the AccessAbility Services office at Tel/TTY 416-287-7560 or ability.utsc@utoronto.ca
Examples of accessible furniture include:
- Electric height adjustable workstation
- Manual height adjustable workstation
- Adjustable height chairs
- Documents stand
- Other features found include an adjustable keyboard tray, monitor risers, wrist rests, mouse rests, footrests, lap desks, slant board [tilt writing surface], task lighting [lamps], forearm supports, backrests and lumbar rolls
Timelines for Requesting Services
For students already registered: If approved for in-course furniture accommodations, please submit a service request by the posted deadline below in order for AccessAbility Services to have sufficient time to fulfill the request.
For students newly registered: If you register with the service after the deadline listed below please notify the service as soon as possible.
Deadlines
Summer - All requests should be submitted by April 30th
Fall - All requests should be submitted by August 10th
Winter - All requests should be submitted by November 30th
