RECYCLING • Uncontaminated recyclable materials (e.g. paper, cardboard, plastics) • Containers provided by Facilities Management • Disposal by Custodial Services NOTE: Larger items such as broken down cardboard boxes can be left outside of the lab in the hallway by the elevator. Custodial Services will retrieve these items for recycling. |

CHEMICAL WASTE • Chemical waste and contaminated solids (e.g. gloves, paper towels, pipet tips, scintillation vials) • Do not fasten lids for contaminated solids, these pails will be emptied into larger drums • Containers provided by CHMStores • Bring full containers to CHMStores for disposal |

SHARPS • Sharps waste (e.g. needles, syringes, lancets, blades) • Designate, separate and label as biological or chemical waste • Containers purchased by lab • Bring full containers to CHMStores for disposal |
