Think. Shoot. Change Video Competition

Put your creativity and imagination to work and send us an original 90 second video - in the style of an informative Social Media Reel. This video will shine a spotlight on any environmental issue that you are passionate about and requires more public attention! Effectively communicating important scientific information and environmental issues to a broad public audience is an important and sought-after skill for those entering the environmental sector. 
 
You may win up to $8,000 dollars*, applied directly to your University of Toronto Student Account upon successful admission to the U of T Master of Environmental Science program

This award is open to individual domestic and international applicants who complete their application to the Master of Environmental Science Program by The early deadline: February 15 and received an Offer of Admission to the program.

Applicants must send an MP4 file or similar and email a completed a Video Competition Form and Submission Agreement Form to the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at dpes-menvsc-program.utsc@utoronto.ca

The winners of this competition will be announced in late summer 2024. 

* Multiple awards will be given - all award funds will be applied directly to the recipient’s University of Toronto Student Account. Group submissions will not be accepted.

The best entries will be put on our webpage and shared on our social media accounts. This competition is expected to run annually.

How to apply?

The application process to the video competition is simple. To enter the competition:

  1. Produce an original 1.5-minute video that educates and engages the general public on a specific environmental issue of your choice. *NOTE* do not go over the 1.5-minute time limit (submissions over the time limit cannot be considered).
  2. Upload your MP4 and send via email to dpes-menvsc-program.utsc@utoronto.ca
  3. Fill out the Video Competiton Submission Agreement Form  

This contest is open to all MEnvSc applicants. The winners may only receive the financial prize if they fulfill the admission requirements and are admitted to the program.
