Nurturing Black Student Excellence in Education (NBSE) is an initiative developed by the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough in consultation with Black U of T administrators (The Private Space Group) to introduce Black-identified high school students to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program and to demonstrate pathways for personal and career development through inclusive higher education communities.

Our Mission is to advance equitable access to post-secondary education for Black students by developing initiatives for structured programs, pathways, supports, and opportunities for Black students to feel a sense of belonging, and to feel comfortable in the Department of Management, with the goal of increasing enrolment in the BBA program for Black students.

Our Vision is that the Department of Management will be a role model for intentionally creating sustainable programs based on the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and by increasing greater representation from marginalized groups within all areas of its organization including faculty, staff, and students.
