Student Computing Recommendations

Below are some minimum recommended hardware specs for student equipment:

Windows Notebook

Memory at least 8GB RAM
Hard Drive at least 256GB storage
Operating System Windows 10 or later

MacOS Notebook

Memory at least 8GB RAM
Hard Drive at least 256GB storage
Operating System Mac OS 12 or later

USB Memory Stick

Memory at least 8GB of storage
Operating System compatible with USB 3.0 or higher

A USB memory stick is recommended for saving your files, but students can also save their documents on one or more of their various cloud storage accounts (OneDrive, Google Docs, Dropbox, etc.)

Having an up-to-date anti-virus software program installed is also recommended. Windows 10 and higher already comes with Windows Defender built in. To download a free antivirus for MacOS please click here.
