Embedded Counselling

All University of Toronto students are welcome to access the Health & Wellness Centre.
In addition, embedded counselling services are available to students in specified areas across campus.
Call the Health & Wellness Centre 416-287-7065 to learn more and to schedule an appointment.

What is Embedded Counselling?

Embedded Counselling is offered by a Counsellor/Therapist who is a registered mental health clinician (Registered Psychotherapists, Registered Social Workers, etc.) and part of the Health & Wellness Centre team. The Counsellor/Therapist provides students with personal mental health counselling in a private office space on campus that is outside of the Health & Wellness Centre.

Why is Embedded Counselling Available?

Provides the opportunity to:

  • increase access to student mental health and wellness supports closer to classrooms (meeting students where they are),
  • increase connectedness, access, and timely support to students with concerns regarding their mental health,
  • collaborate with academic departments while maintaining students' confidentiality, and
  • raise student mental health awareness across campus.
