Looking to demonstrate your early commitment to the health care profession? The University of Toronto Scarborough’s Certificate in Pathways to Health Professions is designed to prepare you for career success and provide a competitive advantage. 

As a student in U of T Scarborough’s Health Sciences Stream, you have the opportunity to complete this certificate while you earn your Honours Bachelor of Science degree.  This unique certification will expand your knowledge and cultivate skills like leadership, communication, equity, and critical thinking—areas that are essential in health care. You’ll also have the opportunity for hands-on experience through paid co-op terms with some of the region’s top hospitals, companies, and research institutes, such as SickKids, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), University Health Network (UHN), and Baycrest. 

Students who graduate in the U of T Scarborough Health Sciences Stream will receive a Hons BSc and the Certificate in Pathways to Health Professions. At this time, this certification is only open to domestic students coming directly from high school.

  • Apply to U of T Scarborough using the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website

  • Select your admission category: 

    • Life Sciences—Health Sciences Stream (OUAC code TXD) 

    • Physical & Environmental Sciences—Health Sciences Stream (OUAC code TXH) 

    • Psychology & Health Studies—Health Sciences Stream (OUAC code TXF) 

  • After selecting your admission category, choose your subject of major interest and whether you want to pursue co-op opportunities.  

  • All students in the U of T Scarborough Health Sciences Stream will graduate with the Certificate in Pathways to Health Professions  

  • This certification is only open to domestic students coming directly from high school
