Geography: Physical and Human at the University of Toronto Scarborough

Develop a uniquely comprehensive knowledge and skillset by bringing together the human and environmental aspects of geography. Your studies will combine environmental and social science to give you a complex understanding of the world, along with strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills valuable in careers across numerous fields. You’ll also gain the tools to explain spatial phenomena in a variety of real-life situations using advanced spatial theories and techniques.

Our innovative geography programs give you first-hand experience through fieldwork, and you’ll begin with courses that teach you how to engage in empirical studies and examine factors that shape societies, economies, regions and cities. You’ll use your knowledge to explore the complex relationships between society and the natural environment, as well as the social and economic problems of human land use and settlement. You’ll also develop an advanced understanding of landforms, weather, geological and hydrological processes, and how all of these interact to form physical landscapes.
