Program summary

The History Program at UTSC provides a dynamic introduction to the global transformations that have taken place over the past two millennia, while also focusing on the experiences and contributions of ordinary men and women to these transformations. Our History program reflects on the belief that no aspect of today’s world – politics, culture, religions, sex relations, or race relations – is fully understandable without an appreciation of how it has developed over time. Courses are offered at all levels in the following areas and periods of history: Africa, America and the United States, Ancient Greece and Rome, Asia, Britain, Canada, Latin America, Medieval Europe, Modern Europe and Russia.

Interested in becoming a teacher? The History (Specialist and Major) program offer a combined degree option where you'll receive advanced admission to U of T's Master of Teaching program. You'll apply to the Master of Teaching combined degree option during your studies at U of T Scarborough.
