With the Joint program in Paramedicine between U of T Scarborough and Centennial College, students will supplement an academic grounding in the Sciences with the practical knowledge and skills required for this demanding and highly specialized field. This program provides an ideal opportunity for a rewarding career as a Paramedic - a professional in the health sciences/medical field. It combines the academic aspects of University study with the practical aspects of College study.
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree program from the University of Toronto leads to qualification for the Paramedic diploma from Centennial College of Applied Arts & Technology. Students become eligible to take the Ministry of Health Emergency Care Medical Attendant exams required to qualify as a paramedic. This challenging program combines theory, laboratory work, and extensive practical field experience.
Please note: this program is only available to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, and protected persons (convention refugees). Paramedicine is also a first-year entry program; if you have completed any postsecondary studies, you are not eligible for admission. (Exception: Those who complete Centennial College Paramedic program or have an existing Paramedic Diploma from an Ontario College + completion of the Paramedicine Bridging course at Centennial College are eligible to apply to Paramedicine at U of T Scarborough.)
Students in the Paramedicine program must also meet non-academic requirements. Please see the Joint Programs website for details.
