Paramedicine at the University of Toronto Scarborough

This program is a rare find in Canada — you’ll graduate from a four-year Honours Bachelor of Science program and a two-year diploma program in just four years. You’ll also combine the academic rigour and research strength of U of T with Centennial College’s hands-on Paramedicine program, known for its high quality graduates and high employment rates. Our exceptional faculty at both campuses prepare you to take the exam required to become a paramedic in Ontario (Centennial graduates consistently score above the provincial average), and give you the academic background for advanced studies in professional fields related to health care. You’ll graduate ready to work in paramedicine, and able to pursue a wider range of education options to advance your training.

You’ll spend your first year at U of T Scarborough exploring biology, chemistry, psychology and a range of other fields. Your second and third years will be spent taking courses both at U of T Scarborough and down the street at Centennial College’s Morningside campus. At Centennial, you’ll get hands-on training in state-of-the-art simulation labs, and work alongside professionals in real-world emergency, medical trauma and psychological settings. You’ll complete field placements with leading emergency medical services, and clinical placements in hospitals and trauma centres. You’ll then spend your last year at U of T Scarborough, earning your minor and rounding out your education with advanced courses.
