For fees purposes:
- A domestic student is a student whose immigration status in Canada is one of the following, regardless of country of residence. Domestic status is subject to confirmation at the time of first-year registration:
- A Canadian Citizen.
- An Indigenous person of Canada who is recognized as First Nations (status or non-status), Métis, or Inuit.
- A Permanent Resident, Protected Person, or Convention Refugee.
- A person who has been approved “in-principle” for permanent resident status in Canada.
- An Ontario resident student is:
- A dependent student whose parent’s primary residence is in Ontario.
- An independent student whose primary residence is in Ontario, and Ontario is the last province in which they have lived in for 12 months in a row prior to being a post-secondary student. (See Students Accounts website for more information.)
