Art History and Visual Culture at the University of Toronto Scarborough

Our unique, interdisciplinary program brings your learning to life with field trips, cutting-edge academics and hands-on learning. Understand how and why histories are written, how representations are formed, and how artists, critics, curators, dealers and art historians interact. You'll use the latest methodologies in the field to look beyond the art itself, and examine the visual cultures and social, political and economic contexts of an artist’s work and life.

We give you a solid, wide-reaching education that covers approaches to visual materials across time, cultures, classes, gender and geography. Learn to evaluate and communicate critically about visual media, and get real-world learning experiences in galleries, museums and other urban settings.
