You’ll combine a strong foundation in theory with a range of practical skills in courses that get you hands-on with groundbreaking research and modern laboratory techniques. You can take your experiential learning even further with our co-op option, which adds three paid, four-month work terms to your studies and gives you the chance to make industry connections at placements in public, private and non-profit sectors.  

This program focuses on the biological aspect of chemistry — it’s an excellent choice if you're primarily interested in chemistry and want to apply your knowledge to biological environments. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of how to use advanced analytical instruments to solve biological problems in the Environmental Sciences and Chemistry Building, our state-of-the-art laboratory and research facility. Your courses will give you the tools to engage in team-based research, analysis and problem solving, and you'll be trained to use current information databases and important software found in modern industries. You'll also learn how to present your findings and write technical reports and project proposals in ways that get people interested.
