Theatre and Performance at the University of Toronto Scarborough

We combine the critical study of theatre with experiential training, and show you how your theoretical and practical skills complement each other. You’ll get hands-on as you explore theatre and performance from multiple viewpoints — including as a performer, director, designer, technician and scholar.

You'll investigate everything from the origins of theatre to contemporary performance practice.

We take advantage of our location in Toronto and have frequent field trips, guest lectures, workshops, and unique collaborations with working artists, all of which give you knowledge, skills and exposure to working professionals in the field.

Get hands-on experience with all aspects of studio theatre production, both as an actor and technician. Our faculty encourage students to participate in the public productions that run on campus in our Leigha Lee Browne Theatre, which hosts everything from student performances to concerts by world-renowned musicians to celebrated guest speakers and more.
